Bark Ink Collective - About Us

In July of 2024, Myself and Adam Morgan

(Woodworker and life long friend) founded

Bark Ink Collective as a means to promote and

sell work for ourselves and other independent

artist. In our first summer trading we

represented 6 artists, makers, illustrators and

ceramists, touring festivals and popping up at

events to stall our work. Since then our

community has grown! We now stock the

work of 12 different artists who each provide

something unique and authentic to themselves

while in keeping to shared themes/values of

sustainable craft, the handmade, found or

foraged. Whether it’s print-based, ceramic,

Leather, silver or wood all of the work has been

carefully made by hand - we use foraged

natural inks, home processed wild clay and

hand-sawn wood.

We're really proud of the community we've been cultivating, we've met so many inspiring people already and are so grateful to all of the creatives that we've connected with so far. We have traded in 23 events so far as of writing in September 2025 with many more to come this year.  If you feel your work would be a good fit for the collective and you would like to enquire about trading with us we are always interested to see what people have on offer are are consistently driven on fostering all creatives work in any way we can.

Meet the Artist

The ten Artists we represent are what make the collective possible and any chance we get we love to showcase their incredible work is one we like to take. Each sits within their own specialism, with an ethos and value set which drives the creation of their work.

Will Valentine

Im Will - the older and wiser counterpart behind the scenes here at Bark Ink. I am a printmaker and Illustrator specialising in foraged natural inks. Most of my work focuses around the importance of place and the relationships we build with spaces around us. you can expect to find me in a bush foraging for anything and everything! If you know where some berries are let me know.

Erin Samuels

Erin combines themes of folk art, storytelling and illustration inspired by myth and magic of both her hometown of Glastonbury and newfound home in Wales. Ray

Ray is a multi-diciplinary maker working predominantly in clay. There's something so special about Ray's work - their ceramic vessels are not only functional pieces of homeware, nor just beautiful objects to look at... they have a sensitive tactility to them that brings peace and comfort to otherwise idle hands. We feel so lucky to stock Ray's wok! Their iconic "glaze guys" ring holders figures are always a shining star on our stalls - sparking many joyful reactions and excitable smiles wherever we take them.

Abigail Smith Studios

Abigails work explores creating curious things using found objects, capturing hidden and forgotten stories. Abigails wonderful little ceramic sprites often watch over the Bark Ink stall, these little fellas are hard to not fall in love with and if you've been lucky enough to adopt one yourself before they sell out you'll understand the gentle grasp you carry one away with as they go off to their new homes. Amongst other pieces of Abigails work on the stall you'll find some forest delights in the beautifully handmade stitched mushrooms and mushroom magnets which are often found chilling out across the stall.

Kareni Lowes

Kelpi was founded in Falmouth, Cornwall by Kareni Lowes. Inspired by time spent exploring local beaches and rockpools, she set out to create products that bring a touch of that simple, seaside joy into everyday life. At Kelpi Studio, we use recycled materials wherever possible. There's something special about making something new from what already exists—small, made-to-order collections that minimise waste and celebrate thoughtful design. Kareni also works as a freelance designer, with previous collaborations including the National Trust and Seasalt.

Workshopping

Here at Bark Ink we have the means to run a range of workshop, whether this be a live have a go activity on our stalls or a booked booked workshop session, we can do it all. At Wilderness 2024, Between the Trees 2024/25, Devauden Festival and SeptemberSong festival we ran Natural ink experimentation and play workshops, in addition to wood based workshops, relief printing workshops and screen printing have a go activities. Bringing along a selection of natural inks, with modifiers, dip pens, brushes and handmade paper books. Participants could have a go screen-printing with natural inks, play using my own designs, with each participant taking home with them: a small bottle of ink, a print they have screened themselves and whatever they experimented with and made during the session.
